Why Consistency is important on Social Media

Why Consistency is important on Social Media

You have most likely heard the saying ‘consistency is key’ this is certainly true and one of the main ways I help my clients to succeed on social media is to create consistent content.

Many of my clients come to me with the same issue when it comes to social media. They are simply not seeing results they had hoped for. More often than not this is due to lack of consistency.

Being consistent is key to Social Media marketing to grow your audience and reach in order to raise your brand awareness.

Posting to social media without any strategy involved, such as; posting at random times, posting five times one week and then once the next are all going to be harming and hindering your progress on social media.

Not to worry though, there is no time like the present!  We will get you posting consistently and strategically with my pro tips below to get your social media working for your business so you can create and raise brand awareness, exposure and turn those followers into paying clients!

Use a consistent brand voice

Consistency in how you communicate your brand voice on social media allows people to recognise your brand and creates your own ‘brand personality’ Brand recognition is important to build a loyal following and audience. To do this it is important to understand who it is your speaking to. Things like age, demographics, location are important to understand and will help you to create a brand voice your audience will understand. Once you have discovered your brand voice it is important to remain consistent in order to build trust, loyalty and become recognisable.

Consistent Aesthetics

Your social media visuals are just as important as the content. People are naturally drawn to aesthetically pleasing visuals, especially on Instagram. It is a great idea to ensure your branding remains consistent using the same or similar fonts, colours and even filters on your images. By remaining consistent with your visuals, this reinforces your brand and ensures that people recognise your brand straight away.

How to post consistently

The very first thing I would advise is to set realistic goals for you and your business. If you can only post three times per week, stick to this instead of trying to post seven days one week and then the next you are unable to keep up that momentum. This would harm rather than hinder your engagement rate.

Create a content calendar

Now you have decided when to post, it's time to create a content calendar! This will help you to plan out the type of content you are going to post. It is worth remembering that your social media posts should be about your audience and how you can add value to them! The worst thing you can do on social media is create posts all about you and sell, sell, sell. Think of some topics you can talk about such as the latest news in your industry, educational posts, entertainment, posts to create engagement and create social proof through things such as testimonials and case studies.

Use social media scheduling tools

Using social media scheduling tools will help you to stay consistent and stick to posting. There are many tools to help with this such as Facebook creator studio and paid platforms such as Buffer, Sprout social and Hootsuite. Another great thing about these tools is that they will give reports on things like your engagement rate etc.

Schedule time to engage with your followers

Now you have promised to stay consistent with your content and scheduled it all! It's time to get consistent with getting social on social media! A key to social media success is to engage with your followers by interacting with their content, and spending time to respond to comments and messages. A great way to do this is to schedule some time and set an alarm a couple of times throughout the day to engage.

Posting consistently and regularly, and engaging with your followers will help to strengthen your brand, raise awareness and build a loyal following that will in turn build know, like and trust. Once this happens, if your followers should ever need your services, you will be the business they remember and choose to use.
